Have a question?

Can you add a special letter to a font of yours?

We offer several development paths:

  • From scratch
  • Customize an existing font of ours
  • Extended the Character set of a font with new language or symbols
  • Personalize separate glyphs of an existing font of ours

Reach us at contact@fontfabric.com  to discuss a custom font for you.

How much does a Custom font cost?

The cost of a custom font depends entirely on the project.

We go through all inquiries to get a feel of the projects’ scope and always strive to name a fair price. Additional questions might be sent on our end. Let’s discuss further at contact@fontfabric.com

What is a Custom font?

A custom font made by Fontfabric is a unique font developed for a specific client. It is based on the client’s needs and aids targeted communication.

Do you offer Custom fonts?

Absolutely! You might have seen our custom typography work for clients like Telenor, Silverstone, Transavia, Axel Springer, to name a few.

Drop us a line at contact@fontfabric.com to discuss a custom font for you.

Where can I see information about my orders?

Information about your orders and invoices can be accessed in your account. There, you can also download the purchased fonts and find information on font updates and subscription options.

I would like to pay via bank transfer, is this possible?

Yes, it’s possible. Feel free to contact us at clientsolutions@fontfabric.com, and we will assist you.

Is VAT added to the orders?

VAT is charged according to the laws in the European Union. Countries outside the European Union will not be charged VAT.

I have purchased the wrong fonts, can I please get a refund?

If you have purchased the wrong font, we will assist you in finding the right one and refund the wrong order.

I have downloaded a Fontfabric font from another website for free? Can I use it commercially?

All of our free fonts are available on our website, so you should check whether the font you downloaded is really free.

What are variable fonts?

Variable fonts are a type of font that allows for multiple styles (weight, width, etc.) to be contained within a single font file. This makes them highly versatile and reduces load times for websites.

What happens when you update one of your fonts?

Whenever we update our fonts you’ll be able to download the latest editions for free. They should be accessible from your profile on our website.

If you’re experiencing any difficulties downloading the latest font updates, please drop us a line at contact@fontfabric.com and we will send them over directly.

I bought a font and want to transfer it to my client. I can do it?

When you purchase a font for your client, you should put their company name in the “License Owner” field at checkout.

How to download and install a free font? What does it come with?

Our free fonts can be used commercially, and you can download them by ordering from the product’s page at a $0 cost.

What license do I need to embed a font in a device interface?

For embedding fonts into device interfaces, firmware, or hardware displays (such as consumer electronics, vehicle displays, dashboards, appliances, or musical equipment), you need an OEM / Font Interface Embedding License. This license specifically covers the use of fonts as a functional part of a product or interface. Standard Desktop, Web, or App Licenses do not permit this type of usage.

Can I share my license with somebody else?

No, only under certain conditions. For example, if someone is working on behalf of your company (i.e. a design or advertising agency) you may share the fonts with them for the duration of the collaboration. If you want to share the fonts within a team or your friends, an individual desktop license must be purchased for each computer.

How do I prove I have a license?

The invoice that you receive after purchase is proof of a license. Make sure to enter the right license owner and domain when finishing your order.

What happens if I don’t have a lincese?

  • If you don’t have a valid license, you are not legally allowed to use the font for any commercial or personal projects. Unauthorized use of a font—whether for branding, websites, apps, or printed materials—can lead to copyright infringement issues, legal consequences, and potential fines.
  • To avoid this, always purchase the appropriate license for your intended use. If you’re unsure which license you need, review our licensing options or contact us for guidance.

What is the license duration?

The font license duration is determined by the type of licensing that you had purchased. It could be either Annual or Perpetual. The licensing is valid until the licensing parameters are not exceeded. When that happens you can contact us for a special discount on your next licensing update.
Annual Licenses: These licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase. You can renew annually to continue using the fonts under the same terms.

Perpetual Licenses: With a one-time payment, these licenses grant you lifetime use of the fonts under the specified terms, without the need for renewal.

What is the difference between annual and perpetual licenses?

  • Annual Licenses: These licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase. You can renew annually to continue using the fonts under the same terms.
  • Perpetual Licenses: With a one-time payment, these licenses grant you lifetime use of the fonts under the specified terms, without the need for renewal.

Which license types are available as annual or perpetual?
All our license types—except the Desktop License—can be purchased as either annual or perpetual. The Desktop License is always perpetual, ensuring you can use your fonts in design software without time limitations.
How are licenses selected by default on the Buy page?
By default, all products are added as annual licenses, except the Desktop License, which is automatically added as a perpetual license.
You can select the type of license on the product page or at check-out.
If you have specific licensing needs or questions, feel free to contact us at contact@fontfabric.com.

How do you know if a font is being used without a license? How is it controlled?

Fontfabric partners with Font Radar for licensing control and constantly checks the licensee database. If there is something wrong with your license, you will receive an email that is best answered.

What happens if you use a font without buying a license? Is there a penalty for illegal use of a font?

Civil, administrative and criminal liability may ensue due to the illegitimate use of a font. In other words, it’s better to buy licenses for commercial fonts.

How does a Webfont license work?

Webfont licenses allow you to install our fonts on a web server and embed them in the code for your own websites. Our Webfont licensing is based on the monthly pageviews a website receives.

What are the common restrictions in font licensing according to Fontfabric?

Apart from specific restrictions that caome with each type of font licensing, when it comes to the font files you are not allowed:

⃠ to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble without the font’s owner prior written consent;

⃠ to resell or redistribute without authorization from the fonts’ owner;

✓ You may, however, create any type of design, modify the vector outlines, create derivative works and visuals using the font itself.

What is an EULA?

EULA stands for End-User License Agreement. In it, you’ll find the conditions you agree to when purchasing a paid font or downloading a free one. This agreement states all types of licenses offered, along with any rules and limits you (and your client when working for hire) are bound to follow.

There are two types of user licenses that we offer:

1. Standard End-User License: issued with individual font purchases covering the most popular uses (Desktop, Webfont, App, ePub, etc.)

2. Custom End-User License: tailored to specific client needs and issued after a professional consultation and negotiations

Read our full Non-commercial EULA and Commercial EULA for details.

Do you offer discounts in some cases?

Fontbaric supports students and NGO’s, don’t hesitate to contact us, and we will provide a discount for your purchase.

How much a font costs? How are license prices determined?

The cost of a font depends on the typeface and the license you choose. At Fontfabric, license prices are determined based on how you plan to use the font. Factors such as the number of users (for desktop licenses), website traffic (for web licenses), app distribution (for app licenses), and other usage specifics influence the final price. You can view pricing details by selecting a typeface and clicking the “+” button to explore available licenses.

Can I buy font for a client?

If you buy a font for your client, please enter their company name in the “License owner” field at checkout. If purchasing a web font, enter the client’s domain when adding the product to the cart.

What font formats do you provide?

Fontfabric provides fonts for desktop and apps in OTF and TTF formats, while variable fonts for desktop and apps are available only in TTF format. For web use, all fonts come in WOFF and WOFF2 formats, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility.

How do I buy a font?

To purchase a font, start by choosing a typeface from our collection. Click the “+” button to access licensing options, select the license type that fits your needs — the price will update automatically. Once ready, click “Add to Cart”, if everything looks good, click “Checkout” to go to the final step and enter your payment details and billing information. The domain name field is available on product pages (for web licenses), and the “License owner” field should be filled out at checkout.
You can pay by credit card or PayPal.

What’s Fontfabric Type Foundry?

Contrary to popular searches on Google, we are not producing fabrics of any kind. We would be very bad at it.

But we have been, however, developing retail and custom fonts for designers and brands from all around the world for over 16 years now. You might know us for the global bestsellers Nexa, Mont, and Intro, or custom typography for companies like Nike, Transavia, Axel Springer, Silverstone, to name a few.

Font doesn’t match what I saw on your website.

Most often users see the alternate characters of a font displayed in their editing software instead of the default ones and end up confused.

Please verify all font features are toggled off so only the default characters of your Fontfabric font are displayed.

On our website, we aim to include images of our fonts using both default and alternate characters for optimal inspiration.

I can’t find a special glyph, letter, or sign in your font.‎

Start by verifying whether our font supports the glyph you’re looking for by checking the Glyph Map tab on the font’s page. Each glyph comes with a Unicode which you can see by hovering on the individual glyphs.

Next, go to your editing software and search for font-related panels which allow you to switch between available glyphs, letters, and signs. If the editing software you’re using doesn’t provide such features you won’t be able to access the full glyph set of our fonts.

If you still can’t find the glyph that should be included in the font according to our website, drop us a line explaining the issue at contact@fontfabric.com

Where should I enter the domain name for web license?

When buying a web license, it is required to enter a domain. Please enter the domain that the fonts will be used on. One license covers only one domain.

What are pageviews? How do I measure them?

A simple definition for a page view can relate to a user viewing a web page on your website. You could also think of pageviews as requests to load a single page on a website, and therefore indicate the times that a font is served.

The best way to track unique pageviews is through Google Analytics.

How does a Webfont license work?

Webfont licenses allow you to install our fonts on a web server and embed them in the code for your own websites. Our Webfont licensing is based on the monthly pageviews a website receives.
